Surveyors take to the roads for charity cycle

Ten surveyors from Bannon recently took part in the ‘Longest Day Challenge’ – a non-stop 220km cycle from St Stephen’s Green in Dublin to Spanish Arch in Galway. Society opens No. 38 for Culture Night

The Society opened its doors to participate in Culture Night for the first time last year. No. 38 was open from 5.30pm to 10.00pm and in that time, some 400 people were shown around selected rooms by staff members. Visitors were awestruck by the ceilings, and word quickly spread to other buildings in the area that the Society’s offices

Courtside thrills in Society tennis tournament

A sun-drenched Lansdowne Tennis Club was the setting for the increasingly popular tennis tournament held on September 4. There was a record entry of 15 teams, and 60 players battled through the early rounds for a place in the semi-finals. It was heartening to see a number of new teams participating in addition to the annual stalwarts.

Retirement of Peter Kerruish

One of the most eminent members of the Society’s Education Standing Committee has retired. Peter Kerruish first joined the Society’s Education Committee when it was under the Chairmanship of Aidan Williams in 1970.
