The Annual Society Soccer Tournament, which took place in the grounds of Pembroke Wanderers on August 23, and was organised by Ciaran Lydon of Savills and Antoine Xavier of Xavier McCaffrey on behalf of the YSCSI, proved to be another exciting and action-packed evening for sporting surveyors.

Supporters were not left disappointed with the large cohort of property and quantity surveying firms battling it out for a place in the final. Referee Danny O’Connor from JLL London had no easy task as finalists CBRE and DTZ brought the game right down to the wire with a 1-1 draw. This meant a nail-biting penalty shoot out to conclude the tournament, which ended in a 4-2 win for DTZ.

Ciaran Lydon presented the winning team with their award. Other winners on the night included Jill Horan of Savills, who was best female player of the tournament, and Peter Love of DTZ, who took the award for best male player.

After a hard fought competition, all eight teams tucked into a well-earned barbecue.
