Paudie Coffey TD, Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government with Special Responsibility for Housing, Planning and Coordination of the Construction 2020 Strategy.

The fifth International Construction Management Day Conference, hosted by the GMIT Department of Building & Civil Engineering on March 10, welcomed its highest ever number of delegates this year. The annual conference was first held in 2010 and provides a forum for the construction and built environment sector to discuss the state of the industry and to be updated on technical developments.
This year’s conference was formally opened by Paudie Coffey TD, Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community & Local Government with Special Responsibility for Housing, Planning and Coordination of the Construction 2020 Strategy.
Now the largest annual construction event in the west of Ireland, the conference attracts contractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, surveyors and other construction professionals, along with staff and students from GMIT’s built environment programmes and other third-level institutions, and staff from local authorities and public sector organisations.
