In direct response to the unprecedented demand for quantity surveying graduates, DIT is currently delivering a part-time quantity surveying degree in partnership with local industry. A particular feature of the degree programme is that students will be employed on a full-time basis in a construction or engineering company, while also attending college one day a week.
The programme, which is fully accredited by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland, includes a work-related learning component, which aims to provide students with the opportunity to formally record and reflect on their experiences in the workplace and undertake a work-related project.
This course will appeal to school leavers, mature students and to applicants who possess a FETAC Level 5 award in a construction-related skill area or equivalent.
This collaboration between industry, the SCSI and third-level institutions will ensure that the skill levels of graduates fit the requirements of the real world. We encourage members’ firms to consider employing students registered on this programme.
