The Society opened its doors to participate in Culture Night for the first time last year. No. 38 was open from 5.30pm to 10.00pm and in that time, some 400 people were shown around selected rooms by staff members. Visitors were awestruck by the ceilings, and word quickly spread to other buildings in the area that the Society’s offices were well worth a visit.
Culture Night this year takes place on Friday, September 20, and we have extended our opening time to 11.00pm. Staff members will be on hand to show visitors around the rooms that are open to the public. Members are very welcome to volunteer to assist on the night, particularly members who would have knowledge of Georgian buildings. Members might wish to avail of the opportunity to show family, friends and colleagues around the headquarters of their professional body.
It is intended to produce an information leaflet for visitors outlining the very interesting history of the building.
